This Etude-Caprice comes from Wieniawski's set of eight study pieces for two violins. The fourth is the most widely performed and usually accompanied by piano instead of a second violin. One such well-known arrangement is by Fritz Kriesler. It is good to note that the first violin part is slightly different in Kreisler's version. The tempo marking as well: (Tempo di Saltarella, ma non troppo vivo vs Allegro vivace Tempo di Tarantella)
