This is the second concerto in the cimento dell'armonia e dell'inventione 12-piece series. Some other notable concertos in the series excluding the seasons are no. 9 in D minor and no. 12 in C, both of which were written for the violin and later for oboe. They were cataloged RV 236 & RV 454, and 178 & 449 respectively. And no. 10 "La caccia" or "The Hunt", RV 362.
