The 23rd Caprice is an excellent test of and exercise for string crossings. It is composed with a section of octaves (Posato) followed by the Minore in C minor, which has four 32nd note rhythmic groupings with three notes played on the G string and the final on the E, requiring a quick 4-string crossing with the bow.
