The Opera "Mignon" was composed in 1866 and the libretto was in French and later in Italian. The Gavotte, also known as the "Entr'Acte" or "Entr'acte-Gavotte", originally appears in the entrance of the second act performed by a full orchestra. Arranger Anschutz had created this version for the violin in G major.
