Six Easy Pieces in the First Position Op.22

By Edward Elgar

The six 'Exercices tres faciles' were dedicated to May Cecilia Mary Grafton, the niece of Elgar through Henry John Elgar following a few generations. They were first written for the violin: Elgar Six Very Easy Melodious Exercises in the First Position, op.22 for Violin and piano accompaniment, but turn out to be just as useful and fun on the viola, transposed down a fifth. They are highly recommended for the young and beginner student.
